Esther joined Brown & Korte as an articling student in 2006 and returned as an associate following her call to the Bar in June of 2007.
Esther obtained her Hon.B.A. from the University of Toronto and her LL.B from the University of Windsor.
Esther's practice focuses on acting on behalf of insurers in the defence of accident benefits and tort claims. She is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Law Society of Upper Canada.
Current Decisions:
Platero v. Aviva Canada Inc., Master McAfee, May 7, 2007. A motion was brought on behalf of the defendant, Aviva Canada Inc. to compel the plaintiff to comply with her undertakings given at the examination for discovery. In particular, the defendant disputed the plaintiff’s position that production of the accident benefits file satisfied her undertaking to provide the particulars of her accident benefit claims, and demanded full particulars thereof. The motion was granted with costs.
Skye v. Aviva Canada Inc., Justice Ferguson, May 16, 2007. A motion was brought on behalf of the defendant, Aviva Canada Inc., to compel the plaintiff to comply with his undertakings and refusals given at the examination for discovery. The motion was granted with costs.
Roozbehan v. Murton et al., Justice Di Tomaso, August 29, 2007. A motion was brought on behalf of the defendant, Aviva Canada Inc., to compel the plaintiff to comply with her undertakings and refusals, with leave of the court, that were given at the examinations for discovery. The motion was granted with costs.
